R o n.. B y e r s
Ron Byers is a Wisconsin photographer who seems to find those rare moments, those scenes one might chance upon when they feel compelled to look over there... or perhaps his approach is sensed and everything is prepared for him just so, knowing his desires, knowing that he will move closer and see, and just have to take the picture... because he somehow recognizes it, inspite of being startled by it, because it is just how he imagined it. |

My Tower of Mid-Evil Dreams
"Perhaps
I should just tell you about my reoccurring dream... I was wading through
the primordial swamp on the way to my execution at the Guillotine of
Giddiness. I had received my invitation & didn’t want to get lost on
the way... and then I began coming across them... my images... floating
on the brine like smiley corpses... becoming synchronistic tar babies
I was compelled to follow... leading me to the devotional cracker barrel
at a dark tunnels entrance. Someone had been eating here... I could
smell the droppings of a greater moment... & then, I heard the laughter
echo. I entered, feeling like an adolescent god on probation, out for
the first time, drunk in the shadows... mining for riches only obtained
at the bottom of an avalanche. I groped on, down the darkness of my
own mystery hole... eventually arriving at a grotto shrine... featuring
my head as a mounted trophy above the alter. At that moment, I was awakened
by the thud of a bird hitting the window... and I wondered at the possibilities
of resurrection..."......Ron
